Introducing the microVISC PRO Microfluidic Viscometer

We are happy to release the microVISC PRO, next-generation RheoSense walk-up and portable viscometer.

This easy-to-use device includes VROC core technology and allows for manual high-throughput measurements of biologics, battery slurries, paints, inks, polymers, cannabis oils, and many more samples.

Some of the numerous benefits include the following:

• Similar to Chapter 911, listed under Chapter 914, this solution is perfect for quality control departments.
• Built-in 7-inch LCD touchscreen display and 21CFR Part 11 compliant software.

• Built-in Peltier temperature-control module and sensor.

  • Temp-control reaches 15°C – 60°C within 10 minutes (can extend this range upon request).
• Viscosity range is 0.3 to 650,000 cP (mPa∙s) for Newtonian and non-Newtonian samples.
• Automatically performs heavy-duty cleaning with only one pipette filled with cleaning solvent.
• Multiple quick repeats at preset or automatic shear rates.
• Test sample-after-sample without cleaning as long as the samples are compatible.

The plot below shows mineral oil’s viscosity data obtained with the microVISC PRO and B05 chip for three temperatures. The unit automatically performed multiple measurements for each temperature. Error bars corresponding to the standard deviation are smaller than the size of the symbols. For these results, the repeatability is %RSD = 0.29, 0.24, and 0.02 for temperatures 25, 40, and 60 °C, respectively.
