Application Note
High-Throughput Intrinsic Viscosity of Sodium Hyaluronate
Sodium hyaluronate (NaHA) is a critical polymer in applications ranging from cosmetics & personal care to pharmaceutical & medical industries. Intrinsic viscosity is an industry-standard metric used to characterize the polymer’s molecular weight, a parameter that dictates physical properties and efficacy. Consequently, intrinsic viscosity is a key test parameter for NaHA under the European Pharmacopeia.
In this application note, we demonstrate the efficacy of the microVISC PRO for determining the intrinsic viscosity of sodium hyaluronate (NaHA), based on the methods outlined in the European Pharmacopoeia, while delivering superior throughput and data repeatability compared to traditional methods.
