Improve Development with Fast Electrolyte Screening
Measuring the viscosity of liquid battery electrolytes helps predict performance and ensures manufacturing consistency. A lower electrolyte viscosity increases ion mobility between electrodes, which can improve battery performance.
Higher dissociation of ions can also improve battery performance. Hence, typically the higher dissociation ethylene carbonate (EC) solvent is blended with a much lower viscosity solvent like dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and/or ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) to keep ions dissociated while under low viscosity for high ion mobility.
