Lipid Nanoparticles

Characterizing Viscosity of Lipid Nanoparticles

Application Note Download

Next Generation m-VROC® II

The RheoSense next generation m-VROC® II, with its advanced features including a reduced sample volume requirement and sample retrieval process, is an ideal viscometer for measuring the viscosity of biological samples such as Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs). LNPs have been developed as a pharmaceutical drug delivery system to deliver a variety of therapeutics, including DNA, mRNA and siRNA. In this application note, we show how we use the RheoSense Initium® one plus and m-VROC® II to measure the viscosity of lipid nanoparticles during a shear rate sweep experiment.

Our goal is to demonstrate the accuracy and reproducibility of the low viscosity measurements on different VROC® instruments, while focusing on the features and capabilities of our new product m-VROC® II.
