Here we compare high shear rheology data with syringe glide force measurements for concentrated monoclonal antibody formulations with and without viscosity modifying excipients. Philip Wuthrich is a Senior Research Scientist at ReForm Biologics in Woburn, MA, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. He has eleven years of experience in technology development, with the last seven years at ReForm Biologics developing new formulation strategies for biotherapeutics.

Biomaterials provide a promising alternative to traditional synthetic polymers, however little is known about how many of these materials will tolerate traditional manufacturing techniques. The high temperatures and stresses inherent to processes such as injection molding and 3D printing can have significant impacts on the materials they are applied to. This talk will provide an insight into unique methods of using capillary rheometers, as well as analytical techniques to characterize samples after they have been processed.
